Get your life: (verb) An expression one makes when someone makes a comment or does something contrary to what you believe is acceptable.
Lately, I’m starting to notice that I’m beginning to ‘fall off’ with everything I used to do, that made life so much easier. As I was laying in bed, trying to take a nap on sunday; which turned into me laying in bed from 7am to 12pm, watching Merlin on Netflix, I decided it was time for me to GET MY LIFE!
Since I spontaneously quit my job and moved back home to become a full-time student, I haven’t done anything productive with myself outside of going to school and occasionally working at my Aunt’s little mailbox & business center a few days out of the month. It’s ok to lay in bed all day once or twice a month… but I think I’m guilty of doing it more than that. Well, I KNOW I’m guilty. When my daughter’s at school and I don’t have class…I honestly don’t get dressed until it’s time to pick her up. It’s actually kinda sickening now when I think about it.
So…whilst in my pajamas, eating cold, left over Ethiopian food…I give you my GET YOUR LIFE guide that I will be using to be a more productive and organized human being. These are some of my favorite websites/services that I have used in the past to make life a little easier:
- Craftsy.com was once my little obsession when I decided I was going to start a business making cloth diapers and bibs. I needed to learn how to sew but I didn’t have the time to take a class. Since I’m trying to re-learn crocheting…this is a great FREE site to learn the basics of crafting.
- Listplanit.com Talk about get your life! This is probably one of the best organizational websites I have come across, as far as offering printables of lists and worksheets that pretty much cover every aspect of your adult life. I used their lists to create a household planner that organzied everything from household finances, to family activities. I used their business eplanner as a planner for my blog…and the GREAT chore charts for my little hoarder of a daughter.
- Emeals is a service I will forever stand by….even though I let my membership lapse…lol! I’ve noticed since I stopped using it, my grocery bill has gone up and I have packed on the pounds. Now that they have the Paleo Diet meal plans, I have decided to go back and get my healthy/affordable eating back in order. Just because I’m a college student, doesn’t mean I have to eat like a 19 year old.
- And last but not least, one of my blogger buddies Britton opened my eyes to SusannahConway.com who offers great resources for setting goals, and being inspired. I love reading her blog, and you will too!
As long as I stick to my little plan, I can get my life back on track and make things a lot easier. I’m even thinking about canceling my Netflix since it is such a big distraction. *Shakes fist at Season 2: Episode 3 Of Merlin*
